The fast, high-resolution FX format sensor of the D850 camera utilizes 45.7 megapixels of effective resolution to provide rich detail files of 45.4 MP. Make high-resolution prints in very large formats. Record movies at 4K resolutions across the full frame. The backlit CMOS image sensor has no optical low-pass filter and incorporates chip micro-lenses with a gapless structure, as well as an anti-reflective coating. Incident light reaches the photodiodes more efficiently, allowing for exceptional details and an incredible dynamic range. Additionally, the 153-point AF system, inherited from the D5, ensures extremely precise focusing and wide coverage required for very high-resolution images across the entire frame.

Or you can achieve 9 frames per second with the optional MB-D18 grip, using the EN-EL18B battery (used in the D5). Capture full-resolution images, even when shooting in RAW format, and the D5 battery allows for capturing 1840 frames on a single charge (in single-frame release mode, according to CIPA standards). A dedicated AF processor ensures fast subject recognition when shooting at a high number of frames per second: even small subjects moving rapidly in low light can be tracked with remarkable precision. Additionally, the camera's dual card slot allows you to use an SD UHS-II card and an XQD card - the fastest possible combination.
