A new 16-core neural engine is capable of performing nearly 17 trillion operations per second, enabling faster machine learning calculations for features like Live Voicemail transcriptions in iOS 17 and third-party app experiences – all while safeguarding critical privacy and security features with the help of the Secure Enclave.

The iPhone 15 series offers essential safety capabilities to provide assistance in critical moments, including accident detection and satellite emergency services. Currently available in 14 countries and regions across three continents, the satellite SOS emergency feature has had a significant impact on users' lives.

Powerful Connectivity Capabilities

The iPhone 15 series offers new and convenient ways to charge your devices, find your friends in crowded places, and stay connected during your travels. Both models use a USB-C connector, a universally accepted standard for charging and data transfer, allowing the same cable to charge iPhone, Mac, iPad, and AirPods Pro (second generation).

Users can also charge AirPods or Apple Watch directly from the iPhone using the USB-C connector. Both models support MagSafe chargers and future Qi2 wireless charging.

Reduced Environmental Impact

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have been designed with the environment in mind. As Apple continues to work towards its goal of making every product carbon-neutral by 2030, from the design and production phase to customer use, the company prioritizes the use of clean electricity throughout the supply chain and designs products with recycled materials and reduced carbon emissions.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus now use even more recycled content, with 100% recycled cobalt in the battery, 100% recycled copper in the main logic board, copper wires in the Taptic Engine, and copper foil in the MagSafe inductive charger.

Both models also include 75% recycled aluminum in the housing, 100% recycled rare earth elements in all magnets, and 100% recycled gold in the USB-C connector.

Eco-Friendly Accessories

To further reduce its impact on the planet, Apple will no longer use leather in any new Apple products, including iPhone accessories. Apple introduces a new FineWoven MagSafe case and FineWoven MagSafe wallet made from a durable and elegant microfabric with a soft, suede-like feel. The material is manufactured with 68% post-consumer recycled content and has significantly lower carbon emissions compared to leather.
